Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington stated he had a different expectation leading into his team's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw in Saturday night's game.

Clayton Kershaw made his season debut, and although his performance over four innings was forgettable, he still added another accomplishment to his illustrious career.

Saturday's two strikeouts give Kershaw 2,970 for his career. He is 30 strikeouts away from becoming 20th pitcher in the 3,000-strikeout club and only the fourth lefty, joining Hall of Famers Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton and CC Sabathia.
