Two years after its rebrand, HBO Max has officially returned. As it remains one of the best streaming services, the platform has gone through quite a few name changes over the years, and changed to Max in 2023 following WarnerMedia’s merger with Discovery.

Max is returning to its former name — HBO Max — beginning immediately. Users of the streaming service, which is owned by CNN’s parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, will see the new-ish name roll out Wednesday, the company announced .

Warner Bros. Discovery has settled on a date to reskin the Max streamer back to HBO Max: Early this Wednesday morning, according to streamer insiders. The flip won’t happen simultaneously, but customers will see “HBO Max” on the apps that formerly said “Max” across the streamer’s territories on July 9.
