Emergency crews across Indianapolis are continuing to work 24 hours keeping everyone safe from the winter weather. When winter weather happens, we’re stronger when we work together. That’s the message being shared by IMPD.

Wheeler also goes through food and money much faster during the winter since more people come in for meals so the shelter has to pay staffers overtime. Crispin said donations of food, clothing, toiletries and money, as well as time, are hugely helpful to Wheeler this time of year.

The first winter storm of 2025 is expected to bring several inches of snowfall to Indianapolis on Jan. 5 and Jan. 6.

Local tow truck drivers are helping Hoosiers who are stuck in the snow. They are urging residents to stay home if they don't need to be on the roads.

Sundays winter storm brought more than a foot of snow to communities south of Indianapolis and the biggest daily snowfall in Indianapolis since February 2022. The National Weather Service continues the storm warning into Monday.
