Los Angeles' Eaton Fire is 100% contained, Cal Fire says
The Eaton Fire that scorched more than 14,000 acres (57 square km) east of Los Angeles has been 100% contained, fire officials said on Friday, a largely symbolic milestone more than three weeks after two devastating wildfires broke out on either side of Los Angeles.

Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,448 acres after being active for 24 days. A crew of 800 firefighters managed to contain the blaze entirely by Friday evening. The fire's cause remains under investigation.

The two largest fires, the Palisades Fire in Pacific Palisades and the Eaton Fire near Pasadena, remain active. One of the latest, the Hughes Fire in the Castaic area, has prompted evacuation orders for tens of thousands of people.

Although evacuation orders have since been lifted for most of LA County, fire survivors continue to face the road to recovery as they focus on rebuilding.
