Southern California is bracing for an "unprecedented" third Particularly Dangerous Situation warning in a month, as extreme Santa Ana winds increase fire danger.

Windy and dry conditions have returned to Southern California, raising the risk of new wildfires sparking as firefighters continue to battle two major blazes in the Los Angeles area that started in similar weather nearly two weeks ago.

The Los Angeles region, still reeling from this month’s firestorm, is under a red-flag warning from noon Monday through Tuesday morning.

Updating maps of Southern California show where wildfires, including the Palisades and Eaton fires, are burning across Los Angeles.

Capt. Baker was assisting with firefighting efforts in steep terrain and fell about eight feet onto rocks, the district’s fire chief said.

Firefighters on Sunday continued to surround the deadly Palisades and Eaton fires in Los Angeles County, working ahead of yet another Santa Ana windstorm, this one expected to move into the region on Monday with gusts of up to 70 mph in coastal and valley areas;

Trump said, “We are watching fires still tragically burn from weeks ago without even a token of defense" in Los Angeles — a remark that drew pushback from some California leaders.

The remarks come over a week after California Gov. Gavin Newsom invited Trump to visit the state and meet the victims impacted by the wildfires.
