Barbara strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane on Monday. Some further strengthening is possible before it begins to weaken.

The First Alert Weather Team is tracking afternoon and evening downpours, with some showers lingering through sunset.

The storms are expected to become weaker in the coming days, but another tropical depression is forecasted to form later in the week.

The NHCcontinues tracking three tropical waves that are moving west across the Atlantic and the Caribbean but doesn’t expect any tropical development.

Summer will officially begin this coming Friday, but a summerlike pattern is already taking over with heat, humidity and storm chances this weekend and during the week ahead.
