The Dallas Mavericks took Duke star Cooper Flagg at No. 1 overall as expected, and a whole host of picks changed hands over the two days of the NBA Draft. The Utah Jazz took a gamble by selecting Ace Bailey at No. 5, Duke had three players go in the top 10, and the Brooklyn Nets did, in fact, use all five of their first-round picks.

Utah fans may know Tonje best from his final collegiate game against BYU in the second round of the NCAA tournament last season. In that game, he kept the Badgers afloat with a remarkable 37-point performance, on 10-of-18 shooting. Remarkable for others, but not for Tonje, he shot 16 free throws in the game.

Wisconsin standout John Tonje was selected at No. 53 by the Utah Jazz in the 2025 NBA draft on June 26. The Badgers' senior earned him consensus second-team All-American honors, which helped his draft prospects despite being an older prospect after playing six collegiate seasons.
