Giants legend Lawrence Taylor denied allowing Abdul Carter to wear his retired No. 56, and the rookie pass rusher is using it as motivation.

When appearing on Bleacher Report's draft stream, former Penn State and current Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons asked Carter what number he plans to wear for the Giants. While Parsons was likely of the mindset that Carter would want to wear No. 11 like he did at Penn State, Carter had expressed he wanted to wear No. 56.

Giants legend Lawrence Taylor, who wore No. 56 throughout his 13-season career, will not allow Carter to wear the number, which has since been retired by the franchise to honor the Hall of Fame linebacker.
