Shane van Gisbergen's win at Mexico City on June 15 had a heavy impact on the NASCAR Cup Series playoff picture. SVG was the 10th driver to win this season, leaving six spots with 10 regular-season races to go.

Shane van Gisbergen powered to a dominant 16.567-second victory at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, taking the checkered flag in the Viva Mexico 250 behind the wheel of the No. 88 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing.

The NASCAR Cup Series playoff standings and Cup points have been updated after the race in Mexico City. There are now 10 races remaining before the playoffs begin on Aug. 31. Drivers who are on the outside looking in of the playoff standings need to make a move soon to secure a spot in the postseason.
