Microsoft Outlook appeared to crash on Thursday, leaving lots of people scrambling as the work day began in the United States. Reports of issues spiked on Down Detector around the early East Coast hours.
Outlook has over 400 million active users around the world. This issue seems to be affecting both personal and work Outlook accounts, as well as Hotmail accounts. Hotmail is also owned by Microsoft. Some users are seeing a message saying that their license is not valid, while others are seeing a message that says, "Something went wrong."
Well, Gmail was paying attention, and the official account on X dropped a perfectly-timed post that has now gone viral. "It's a great day to send an email," the post read. As of Thursday afternoon, the post from Gmail has over 818,000 views.
